Here, we will continue to work on objections to, and the various perspectives in writing. Being aware of your audience will help you make good claims and counterarguments.
Remember, not everyone will always agree with you. There may be people who not only disagree with your thesis statement, but your ENTIRE paper because of what you choose to include or exclude. BECAUSE YOU KNOW THIS ALREADY – go ahead and prepare for it! Start thinking critically about how you THINK your audience MIGHT respond and how you will appropriately respond to those objections or places where you may be challenged.
Sample ways to begin addressing an objection could look like this : (“So and so states that the problem is…

. This explanation is valid, but it does not take into account… [counter]”).
The point is to be aware of diverse viewpoints and knowing how to respond to them within your paper. Use this chart to input your claims, the counter arguments that could arise, and how you would respond to them based on the specific audiences.

topic :

The main ways that my research has changed, evolved, or complicated my ideas is that it has provided me with a better understanding of the incidence and risk factors of injuries in youth soccer players, the importance of developing leadership skills in this population, and the differences between youth soccer in the US and Europe. Additionally, it has helped me to identify potential interventions that could be implemented to reduce the rate of injury in youth soccer players and to help youth soccer become more effective at developing leaders.
My research question has not changed, but my research has provided me with more insight into the topic and a clearer understanding of the complexities of the issue.
The information I still need is more data on the effectiveness of different interventions used to reduce the rate of injury in youth soccer players and to help youth soccer become more effective at developing leaders. This information would allow me to further support my argument and to provide more concrete evidence for the efficacy of various strategies.
The particular needs of my rhetorical situation have shaped my research by influencing the sources and information I have chosen to include. For instance, I have chosen to focus on sources from academic journals, which are highly reliable and provide evidence-based information. Additionally, I have chosen to include sources from reputable websites and publications, such as SoccerToday and the Girls Soccer Network, which provide an overview of the issue from a more practical perspective. I have also chosen to focus on sources that provide information on the US and Europe in order to provide more context for my argument.
