Who is your target market?  

My target market is mature women committed to beauty and health who spend much time trying to slow down aging. To solve their problems, they feel they need help and solutions. Some examples of my target would be women trying to brighten up their skin, trying to get rid of age spots, and the forever chase to no wrinkled skin.

Society has proven vain; YouTube has many videos of how to, but something needs to be solid and fact-based. The beauty industry is full of knowledge on how to care for one’s skin and hair, but again people need more time to confirm facts. The beauty industry is saturated with research and data that most consumers are unsure of what is the fact. A broader generational trend of physical well-being is linked to the growth in the beauty industry in recent years. Beauty has seen meteoric growth due to millennials, often credited as the main drivers. As a coping method in today’s complex political and economic climate, many articles have discussed the importance of “self-care” in light of the aging millennial demographic. Beauty has become increasingly accessible through the increasing availability of products, services, and tools that enable self-care. This has been driven by the growing “wellness trend,” which combines physical, mental, and emotional health. This trend has been particularly pronounced among millennials, who increasingly invest in self-care and beauty products.

Huda Beauty, the creator, is a blogger who became an influencer sharing her issues with the industry. She was able to create a makeup line that saw international success. Again, a success based on her experience in a demand that needed to be filled, she sought to create products that worked for her; being an influencer provided her with raw research for creating products for her followers.

Glossier has established a digital presence and marketing and has already started blogging and using its blogging platform to create a beauty line of products for its client base. Established in the market and leading the way, ensuring it uses clients’ comments and concerns as a marketing tool. This will ensure they are getting the finest products out to their clients. 

The company approaches product innovation similarly: they regularly consult with customers about how their products are used and their wishes. They even have a dedicated Slack channel with the 100 highest-engagement customers that is used effectively as a high-engagement focus group for product development.

 

What differentiates you from your potential competitors? Provide at least two examples of your potential competitors and how you will be different. (i.e. Compare and contrast).

 

One of the main differences is that I can provide clients with consultations and follow-up appointments so they can stay on top of their beauty needs. As part of my business, I would also offer spa days for clients, giving clients the opportunity to add a personal touch to the product they buy. In addition, I would teach them how to get the most out of that particular product by offering my clients the opportunity to visit my site and interact with spa representatives to have one-on-one lessons on how to use the products. I would also have video chats so clients get the personal touch of how the brand does care.

 

Many online stores only offer a buy option. My site will have a try before you buy sample-size products would be provided, or you will get a refund to your account to try another product if you are not satisfied with the product. As a result, I ensure that my clients have these options available for them to choose from. Moreover, it has been seen that many online stores do not take into account adverse events related to their products. Furthermore, I would include this as one of the features that I would make sure to include in the product as well.
