1st post: Through reading the course text, workforce engagement is when employees are actively involved in their profession on different levels whether it be physically, or mentally and work towards completing tasks that are set by the organization (Evans & Lindsay, 2020). This is what happens when there is a well-established culture in an organization. When there is a strong culture, and all members are dedicated to a common goal that they believe in, then workforce engagement runs smoothly. The principles of motivation are what drives someone to do just about anything. Are employees showing up to work everyday because they love making cheeseburgers at a fast-food restaurant or do they want a paycheck. Most likely their motivation is the paycheck, and this is okay. There is a need for all different types of jobs and motivation is a driving factor for an employee at a fortune 500 company or a server at a restaurant.

The reason positive workforce engagement can lead to favorable outcomes and results is because when employees are feeling better about what they are doing they are likely to perform better. They may feel fulfilled and proud of what they are working on so it causes them to take pride in what they are doing. When there is negative workforce engagement, an employee may feel that what they do does not matter therefore why try to do a quality job.

Both positive and negative engagement has a major impact on the organization and its workforce. This could be the determination between making your bottom line or not. A business that is barely scraping by will surely fail if the workforce engagement is poor and below the standard that is required to stay afloat. A negative engagement is also detrimental to the workforce that may be trying to make a difference. If there are employees with a positive workforce engagement that are outnumbered by the amount of employees who do not care about their performance, then the few employes who do care will likely get burned out and begin not caring as well.

Short term outcomes that are seen from workforce engagement will be an upward trend in production and quality. Improved work environment and happier employees will work harder as long as they are compensated appropriately. Long term effects would be a more stable business that would be able to take more risks that could benefit them. When workforce engagement is low it is hard to take risks and expect to come out on top. The organization I am in measures these impacts by setting timelines and seeing if those timelines are met or busted. And when they are not met what were the factors contributing to this.

2nd post:

What are the principles of workforce engagement and motivation?

It’s a wise decision to hire folks with a positive outlook and a solid character. These people will work hard, want to achieve, want to get better, and have all the abilities required to take care of an organization. Making effective strategies, then speaking with management, is a great concept. People who have ambitions for them in an organization as well as things and long-term personal relationships find it to be quite advantageous. Although giving bonuses and financial incentives is a nice idea, it doesn’t always succeed. Find out what drives people intrinsically rather than paying them to be more productive.

How can positive workforce engagement lead to favorable outcomes and results?

A productive workforce produces higher levels of output, which results in higher-quality goods and services. can result in increased profitability and sales. Additionally, it has higher employee loyalty.

What impact did the engagement have on the organization and its workforce?

Customers are more likely to be satisfied with businesses that have highly engaged workers. They are also more likely to achieve high levels of productivity and operational effectiveness, generate higher profits, and have lower staff turnover rates.

What short and long-term outcomes emerged?

Short-term improvements will boost employee dedication and mood toward the company. In the long term, it will create a culture with lower turnover.

How does your organization measure the impact?

My organization has what we call an Enlisted Performance Report (EPR) that shows all tasks completed
