How my particular Doctoral Study might bring about improvement on management or business practice
To explain how my Doctoral study shall improve management or business practices, I shall first expand upon the current situation in healthcare organizations.
After exploring the importance of staff training, Dolan & Capell (2015) concluded that investing in (1) training, (2) education, and/or (3) development is beneficial for a healthcare organization. Hussein & Elsaiad (2021) found that soft skill training results in the healthcare providers’ increase of (1) knowledge, and (2) job performance. Hussein & Elsaiad concluded that there should be a necessity to continuously soft skill train healthcare providers in order to sustain effective health care. After studying the effect of effective communication between healthcare providers (nurses) & patient and individualized care, Kaur (2020) found that healthcare providers (nurses) that allocate more time to their patients are better capable of (1) speaking out for the patient, (2) addressing patient concern, and (3) making the patients more complaint. Lastly, Tiwary et al. (2019) stated that hospital staff lack of communication result in inefficient use of hospital resources.
Thus, I believe that my Doctoral study would help management maintain (1) a better providing staff for their patients, (2) a more knowledgeable staff, (3) a staff that would help the patient feel more at ease, and (4) a staff that would help maintain the healthcare organization’s resources.
Reflection on the most important components of the doctoral research process from my perspective as an independent scholar
I believe the most important component of my doctoral research is the research design. The research design will allow me to set a plan of completion. The research design is followed in importance by background research (comprehensive literature review) and gathering information about the research topic from professionals in the field. A professional’s point of view is greatly important as they might point out (1) the validity of the research, (2) critical points of the research topic, and (3) expand upon the topic. Thirdly, is it important to be extra careful with data collection and the analysis of the collected data. These two elements will shape the research as a whole and result in the best conclusion possible. A good conclusion will (1) allow the research to be helpful to current organization situations, and (2) allow further research to be built upon it.
Side note:
The doctoral research process is tedious and requires time dedication. Time management is critical and the key (I believe) to a successful doctoral study. Surround yourself with understanding and supportive people. One word of motivation can push you to do better and/or not give up.
