Compare and contrast your answers. What are the similarities and differences between your peers’ responses and yours? How both responses help establish how technology and society are intertwined? How can a perspective through the four lenses help develop a greater understanding of technology? My post: The technology I would like to discuss is the Amazon Echo. I use it to play music, check the news and the weather, set alarms, and manage smart home appliances. In addition, I use it to ponder off-topic queries like “What is the capital of France?” and “How many words are there in the English language?” The way I use the Amazon Echo and how it is discussed in this week’s readings are both examples of technology. The texts cover the topic of how technology can be used to connect people, give information, and automate chores. These are all things the Amazon Echo can do. Setting alarms and playing music can automate tasks. By providing news and weather updates, it can inform. And because it lets me make calls and send messages, it can also link individuals. However, in several other ways, my experience with the Amazon Echo differs from how technology is discussed in this week’s readings. The readings, for instance, emphasize the application of technology in business settings. On the other hand, the Amazon Echo is a consumer gadget that is mostly used at home. The readings also include the application of technology to resolve challenging issues. On the other hand, the Amazon Echo is a straightforward gadget that is utilized for routine activities. Peer 1:  The piece of technology I have chosen is satellites. Satellites are used to help predict weather, observation, GPS, and broadcasting services. Satellites are a major part of our daily lives considering how much other technology we use. The satellites that are launched into orbit affect how we receive information on our smart phones and computers by communicating encrypted information over radio waves that is then translated by more technology (or people) into a format we can easily understand. Without satellites, our depth of knowledge would be quite small due to the lack of communication between technology systems and other countries. Computers, phones, GPS, and others all rely on the information provided to us via satellites and our lives would be vastly different without them.  Peer 2:  The smartwatch is one piece of technology that has greatly impacted my day-to-day activities. I use a smartwatch to keep connected and organized. I get alerts for calls, texts, and emails, so I can check them quickly without having to take out my phone. With the help of my smartwatch, I can track my daily steps, heart rate, and exercises. It offers insightful information on my physical activity and encourages me to be active by establishing daily objectives.BusinessBusiness – Other
