The values of leaders in the organizational setting are an important part of how they come across to others. What they value shows in their actions and dealings with staff. Values influence decisions made and produced specific behaviors, how the leader interacts with followers (Sun & Shang, 2019). This in turn shows followers what is valued by the leader and why they may be acting in a specific fashion. If a leader does not value others before themselves, they are not a servant leader and may treat others negatively, since they have themselves in mind first. My experiences have helped me gain values that put others first and allow me to speak up for a group, not only myself. These values can change as I grow older due to the relation to life experiences. The way I made decisions 20 years ago may not be the same way I make them now. Personalities or behavior relates to how one reacts or relates to a situation (Sun & Shang, 2019). My Christianity and the values I have gained through life experience plays a significant role in servant leading. My values and behavior should help others grow to become future servant leaders not affect them negatively.  2. Trent said? Values are important and play an important role in leadership and these will often be shown when you are leading others. if you choose to be a servant leader your values will be shown as you will be someone who considers the interest of others and puts your followers before yourself. On the other have if you value climbing to the top of the company as an individual you will be inclined to look out for your interests more often than others. One of the values in my leadership model is honesty as I consider it to often dictate my behavior as a leader. I think honesty is important and it is something which everyone should make sure they value. It is often difficult to trust people and the world because we too often see so many people telling lies and saying things to only boost their own intentions. Owning up to mistakes for instance is important and being open with mistakes shows humility. This is also important with reviewing your employees performance and being honest when they are doing good as well as when they are doing bad and need improvement in an area of their job. Honesty is important is showing integrity and being someone who people can trust because they know what to expect and know you’ll come through. BusinessBusiness – Other
