International student enrollment in the MBA Program: The University of business economics is devising a short-term plan to increase graduate student enrollment in its MBA program. As a part of this initiative, the University has decided to actively engage in international student recruitment from Egypt. While American higher education system is well-known for quality of graduate education around the globe, the University has not traditionally targeted the international student populations in its student recruitment campaigns. Dr. Tye Jackson, the Dean of CBE, believes that this initiative can benefit CBE and Cal State LA by leveraging the global interest in the American higher education system. In his words, “Despite some recent changes in trends favoring European countries and Canada as a destination for graduate studies, many international students are still interested in the US higher education system and the quality education that it offers. We are different from universities such as UCLA or USC in mission and focus, but we are still one of the major business schools in the city of Los Angeles and we need to play a more active role to gain our fair share of international student market.”Considering the limited resources at hand, CBE needs to take a systematic approach in selecting its target student populations in one or two specific countries. As a part of your responsibility to contribute to this plan, please use a systematic analytic approach to collect data, and analyze the relevant information about two countries (one from the list and one outside of the list). Your analysis is supposed to help CBE prioritize its efforts to increase international graduate enrollment.As graduate students, it is your task to use sound judgment to select the appropriate business analysis tools and provide a relevant and comprehensive comparative analysis.
